Cloud Database Administrator
ZS is looking for a Database Administrator to join CCoE Database group in our Pune office. The Database Administrator will support, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Data warehouse databases (Redshift) on AWS cloud platform to address business database problems across multiple client engagements (from conception through release) for non-production and production environments. Our projects range from custom-built applications to configuration/implementation of other web-based solutions.
What you'll do:
- Deploy, configure, and manage data warehouse databases including Redshift, Snowflake, and similar technologies.
- Perform core DBA tasks such as backup and restore, user access management, monitoring, and version upgrades.
- Troubleshoot ETL processes and ensure smooth data integration workflows.
- Monitor and tune database performance to maintain optimal application efficiency.
- Provide day-to-day support for production and non-production environments, executing infrastructure changes through established change management processes and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Proactively monitor database systems to ensure security, resilience, and minimal downtime.
- Apply AWS operational best practices for resource allocation, performance tuning, and high availability.
- Deliver insights and trend analysis to management for informed decision-making.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of OLAP-based systems and data warehouse architecture.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications or related field, with record of high academic achievement, Masters' degree preferred
- Knowledge of Data warehouse database technologies like Redshift, Snowflake, etc
- Knowledge in AWS administration along with an AWS certification will be added advantage
- Eagerness to contribute in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Self-motivated and directed, with strong attention to detail.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
