Summary
We are seeking a remote Cloud Computing Specialist IV to join our team. The candidate will support GAMA-1's growing Cloud Services practice. In particular, the successful candidate will help drive GAMA-1's efforts to support its customer's strategic initiatives. These strategic cloud initiatives intend to increase the bureau's IT efficiency, improve IT delivery, and reduce costs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering cloud technologies.

Essential Functions

- Direct the cloud administrative duties within a cloud environment (s) Including, but not limited to, Compute, storage, and notification and queue management
- Oversee the creation and documentation of Agile artifacts, including those from user studies, backlog management activities, and related processes.
- Provide guidance on infrastructure movement techniques, including application transfer/migration into the cloud.
- Direct the development of cloud business best practices and processes
- Work directly with multiple teams and business units to understand business needs and translate those to IT/business capabilities
- Participate as part of UAT and development process (as needed)

Basic Qualifications
- BS/BA in Computer Science, a Technical Field, or other related disciplines OR 4+ years of experience supporting an AWS
- 8+ years’ experience administrating cloud compute, storage, and infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with cloud services, containerization technologies, scripting languages, data interchange formats, and job scheduling and management tools
- Hands-on experience with cloud services and containerization technologies, including building Docker container images, scripting languages, open-standard data interchange formats, and job scheduling and management tools
- Experience with Amazon Web Services, code-defined infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD
- Strong verbal and communication skills, working with senior leadership and across organizational teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly in layman's terms
Preferred Qualifications
Must Have
- Federal government experience
- Working knowledge of Jira projects, workflows, issue types, permissions, and notifications
- 2+ years’ experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, BitBucket
- Proven experience with Perl, Java, PowerShell, PHP, Ruby, Python, etc.
- Experience with ECR, EKS, YAML, Python, JSON, OpenPBS
- Experience with IaC tools and framework
- Experience with AWS Lambda and “Serverless” systems
- Experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments
Nice to Have
- Preferred Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Architect with Google Cloud Platform: Infrastructure
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Proficiency Requirement: The candidate is expected to demonstrate proficiency in all essential job functions, tools, and processes related to this position within the first 90 days of employment. This includes acquiring a thorough understanding of job-specific responsibilities, systems, and workflows as outlined during onboarding and training. Failure to meet this requirement may result in additional training, reassessment, or other actions as deemed necessary by management.
The base salary range for this position is: $154,915 - $218,375
This base salary range represents a general guideline. An individual’s base salary within that range is determined based on a variety of factors, including (without limitation) the scope, complexities, and responsibilities of the position, the government contract to which the position is assigned, geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and skills.
