Cloud Architect

You will be an integral part of a high-performing multi-disciplinary team developing innovative products from the ground up.
Tocaro Blue is transforming maritime technology by modernizing legacy marine radar systems through innovative software solutions. Our flagship product, ProteusCore, is an advanced software platform that integrates vessel radar sensor data with artificial intelligence and machine learning models to deliver real-time situational awareness.
We are looking for a Cloud Architect whose primary role will be to architect and manage cloud systems supporting AI/ML functionality and development to bring modern sensor perception and machine learning techniques to the marine industry. This will include designing, provisioning, and managing cloud databases and compute systems, as well as controlling developer access and credentials company wide.
Responsibilities
- Architecting cloud solutions using AWS for meeting internal and external product needs
- Managing cloud implementations and monitoring usage and costs
- Automating systems for data security and backup
- Controlling development accounts, credentials, and permissions
- Managing company-wide cybersecurity and IT controls
Requirements
- Experience with cloud platform architectures, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with cybersecurity concepts and security measures
- Experience configuring networks and working with various operating systems
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience with Cloud Systems or IT Management
- Experience working alongside teams shipping software into the market
Nice to Have
- Experience working with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and secure cloud systems
- Certifications including CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCSP, CISA, or similar
- Personal projects, or hobby interest, in solving problems with hardware and firmware
- Marine experience
Compensation & Commitment
- $90,000 - $110,000 salary, with potential for incentive equity compensation
- 401(k) with matching (up to 4% of salary), Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability Insurance
- In-house training on tools and techniques
- Ability to work on US Government Contracts (typically limited to US Citizens)
- Open to temporary or permanent remote working arrangements if based in the Southeast
- Occasional travel (monthly daytrips)
