Systems Engineer
The System Engineer shall provide overall systems administration, maintenance, and support for current and future versions of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 or higher, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, and associated applications.
Responsibilities include:
Perform systems administration, maintenance, and operational support for NIPR and SIPR SharePoint environments.
Manage and maintain server vulnerability remediation in accordance with cybersecurity requirements and reporting standards.
Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain SharePoint search functionality.
Coordinate and collaborate with the Network Infrastructure team to support portal availability and performance.
Design and implement medium-sized SharePoint intranet and extranet farm topologies following Microsoft best practices.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical, operational, and performance issues within the SharePoint portal infrastructure.
Plan and implement SharePoint Foundation and SharePoint Server service packs and cumulative updates.
Create and maintain documentation for NIPR and SIPR SharePoint infrastructure, deployments, configurations, and service specifications.
Collaborate with Infrastructure and Database Administration teams on backup and recovery operations and conduct monthly disaster recovery testing related to NIPR and SIPR SharePoint implementations.
Manage SharePoint service applications, including creating web applications, configuring Alternate Access Mappings (AAM), and managing farm features and solutions.
Develop and maintain a NIPR and SIPR SharePoint configuration document that captures hardware, operating system, and software configurations; service accounts; IP addresses; hostnames; and service application topology.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
Experience administering Microsoft Server 2013 and 2016 environments.
Experience with Azure administration and development.
Experience managing SharePoint service applications, creating web applications, and administering farm features and solutions.
Experience managing and maintaining vulnerability remediation for servers in compliance with cybersecurity requirements and reporting.
Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and communicating network issues to both technical peers and management.
Experience evaluating, planning, migrating, deploying, and managing Microsoft 365 services.
Experience with networking concepts, server administration, Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting.
Three or more years of Microsoft Enterprise Administrator experience.
Two or more years of Microsoft Exchange experience.
