The Role
Description
- We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect with deep expertise in AWS cloud services to lead the architecture and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems. This role involves hands-on work in cloud-native design, DevOps, and API integration within a complex enterprise setting. Knowledge of Apache Kafka is considered a strong advantage.
- Design and lead AWS cloud architecture (Lambda, ECS, EC2, IAM, S3, CloudFormation).
- Implement DevOps pipelines, infra. as code, and monitoring solutions (CloudWatch).
- Drive event-driven patterns and distributed system design using AWS native services.
- Ensure cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and guide implementation.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
- AWS Certified Data Engineer
- Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka (bonus)
- This position is based in Waterloo.
- Candidate can be around Toronto area (or should be able to travel to Waterloo few times), 80% remote is possible.
