We’re seeking a Cloud Application Architect to lead the modernization of legacy applications and design cloud-native solutions on AWS. This role involves evaluating existing systems, decomposing monolithic applications, and designing scalable, containerized or serverless architectures using services like ECS, Lambda, and API Gateway. You'll work closely with data and DevOps teams to build integration pipelines, recommend optimal AWS services, and create solution blueprints that align with cloud best practices. As a Cloud Application Architect you will:
- Evaluate CEDSCI applications and design target architecture mappings.
- Break down app components and determine suitable AWS service replacements.
- Design container or serverless implementation plans.
- Collaborate with data and DevOps engineers for integration pipelines.
- Recommend optimal storage, compute, and messaging patterns.
- Create solution blueprints and service contracts (APIs/interfaces).
- 3+ years of experience designing and modernizing cloud-based applications, including breaking down monoliths into microservices and applying 12-factor app principles.
- Proficiency in containerization and serverless architectures, with hands-on experience using Docker, Amazon ECS, and AWS Lambda for scalable, event-driven application design.
- Strong background in designing and integrating RESTful APIs using Amazon API Gateway and orchestrating backend services with AWS Step Functions.
- Ability to architect for both stateful and stateless compute environments using Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, or Lambda to ensure application scalability and resilience.
- Experience with legacy application modernization using AWS tools such as App2Container and Migration Hub Refactor Spaces.
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field.
- US Citizenship Required.
