Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Trenton)
Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Toms River)
Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Trenton)
Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Toms River)
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Trenton)

What You’ll Do

The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership and supervision to counseling staff while ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and compliance of therapeutic services within an opioid treatment program and outpatient counseling setting.

This role ensures treatment services address substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, psychosocial needs, and medical considerations.

Your responsibilities may include:

Clinical Leadership & Supervision:

• Provide direct clinical supervision and oversight to counseling staff
• Assign caseloads and assist with staff scheduling
• Review and approve assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Conduct supervision meetings, staff training, and professional mentoring
• Support counselors with crisis intervention and complex case management

Program & Client Care Management:

• Ensure coordination and integration of clinical services across departments
• Oversee admissions, discharge planning, and continuity of care processes
• Ensure treatment plans address clinical, behavioral, psychosocial, and medical needs
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment meetings
• Support youth-focused initiatives, school partnerships, and family engagement efforts
• Represent the program through community partnerships and agency collaboration

Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with agency policies and New Jersey regulations
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical clinical practices
• Monitor quality improvement initiatives and reporting requirements
• Assist with staff recruitment, training, evaluations, and professional development
• Review client financial eligibility and related documentation

Qualifications

Required Licensure:

• Active New Jersey LCADC license
• CCS (Certified Clinical Supervisor) required
• Qualified clinical supervisor under NJ Alcohol and Drug Counselor Regulations (N.J.S.A. 45:2D-1 et seq.)

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a substance abuse treatment program
• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or human services experience

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions
• Understanding of psychotropic medications and behavioral health treatment
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong documentation and organizational abilities
• Ability to support multidisciplinary teams and complex client needs

Additional Requirements:

• Must successfully complete Physical & Drug Screening (including THC)
• Must pass Criminal Record History Clearance, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances
• Must meet physical requirements including sitting, standing, lifting, driving, and climbing stairs
• Must maintain active professional licensure and complete required continuing education
