Position Title: Clinical Supervisor Psychologist
Department: Youth Services
Reports To: Program Director / Clinical Director
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for supervising staff providing counseling and clinical services to patients and conducting/providing or supervising: psychological evaluations, individual, couple/family or group psychotherapy, consultations, crisis interventions, treatment planning, and medical record reviews, as needed. Implements the treatment philosophy of Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC).
Reports To: the Program Director for administrative activities, and to the Clinical Director for clinical matters, unless the immediate supervisor is a licensed mental health professional.

CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
Clinical Responsibilities shall include:
1. Overseeing and participating in audits of the medical record and clinical services
2. Being a member of the Medical Staff and participating in peer review, as requested
3. Conducting assessments of patients at the time of admission and re-assessments as required
4. Psychological evaluations, as needed
5. Providing appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the patient’s history, signs and symptoms
6. Proper documentation in the medical record of services rendered
7. Individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy, as needed
8. Crisis intervention services, including 5150 determinations
9. Consultation/liaison services to multidisciplinary program staff
10. Treatment planning
11. Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements (i.e., suspected abuse; Tarasoff), professional boundaries and related issues.
12. Other duties as assigned by Director/Administration.
Supervision/Training shall include:
1. Providing supervision to clinical and/or counseling staff as deemed appropriate, including interns, psychological assistants, mental health and counseling staff.
2. Conducting competency and performance review of i staff, as required.
3. In-service training to staff and/or trainees on mental health topics, as required.
Administrative duties shall include:
1. Attending clinical and administrative committee meetings, as requested.
2. Maintaining proper documentation, as necessary, of clinical supervision
3. Participating in community events, presentations, meetings, and outreach on behalf of TTC
4. Additional functions as specifically requested by the Clinical Director or Program Director.
EDUCATION
A Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D in psychology. Current license as a psychologist from the California Board of Psychology.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in evaluating and/or treating individuals suffering from substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis.

Skills Required
- Doctorate degree in social work, counseling, psychology or social science
- Licensed by the California Board of Psychology as a Psychologist
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from substance abuse and/or dual diagnosis
- Prior supervisory experience
