The Clinical Sales Specialist role will focus on delivering comprehensive training on products, providing clinical support, and driving sales growth.  The Clinical Sales Specialist will be assigned a defined geographic territory; providing effective instruction regarding the company’s products, intraoral digital technology and/or related services, and introduction and communication of DDS Lab’s services to enhance the customers’ organization and contribute to sales growth.  Provides clinical support at the office level and education offerings through technical hands-on assistance/training, and hosting educational programs as required. Prepare reports as required and record all activity in HubSpot. Focuses on sales growth by demonstrating the value of DDS Lab’s services and promoting benefits to increase usage among customers and potential customers.  Position requires 80% travel (including some weekends). 

Essential duties

  • Conducts on-site training sessions for dental practice customers and perspective customers on intraoral scanning technology for dental restorations and other dental lab technologies. Guide customers to use DDS Lab as their dental lab for their lab business.
  • Support sales growth by demonstrating the value of DDS Lab’s services, promoting products to increase usage among customers and potential customers. 
  • Work closely with the Directors of Clinical Office Specialists to identify new DSO opportunities, grow existing DSO accounts, and deliver proper rules of engagement for each office.
  • Follow-up (by phone, email, or in person) on education and sales needs submitted to clients.
  • Establish professional client / DDS Lab relationships with appropriate client personnel (dental assistants, office managers, dentists, and key contact/point persons.)
  • Submit weekly activity / call report concerning client related activities for DDS Lab relationships to the Director of Clinical Office Specialists.
  • Perform all assigned duties in the assigned territory, including but not limited to meeting or exceeding all sales goals and initiatives.
  • Conduct product training sessions at client locations (i.e., Lunch-and-Learns, evening programs, Regional meetings DSO annual meetings etc.)  Provide a territory training forecast monthly.  Record all training activity and client contact information in HubSpot.com.
  • Must utilize the appropriate PPE while in the dental offices adhering to the necessary protocols established for infection control and sterilization.
  • Stays updated on industry trends, product innovation, and best practices in the dental industry to provide relative insights and support. 
  • Participate in sales meetings and strategy sessions to align train objectives with business growth goals.  
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Intra-Oral Digital Technology and Implants – Must present a strong aptitude and comfort level to personally observe and advise on dental implant procedures and us of Intra-Oral Digital Technology.
  • Ability to effectively present information, communicate and respond to questions clearly and persuasively with customers, management and other key members of the company while maintaining a high level of professionalism. 
  • Ability read, analyze and interpret documents in English, such as professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.  Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, use personal judgment and utilize strong decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to effectively perform tasks, create training materials, and communicate with customers and colleagues.  
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Previous dental experience in a lab or dental office is required.  High level of technical and material knowledge of dental products
  • Must have a combination of 3-5 years of outside sales experience in dental or medical device or in office clinical experience working as RDA or RDH.
  • Bachelor’s degree in dental technology, dental hygiene, or related field preferred. High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have a dependable car that can be used for company travel for which appropriate reimbursement is provided and must possess a valid driver’s license with no significant violations or points. 
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 80%) to customer locations and work flexible hours as needed. 

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of intraoral digital technology and dental implants, including the ability to observe and advise on implant procedures
  • Strong presentation, communication, customer service, and professional relationship-building skills
  • Ability to read and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, regulations, and manuals in English
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, exercise judgment, and make decisions independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Previous experience in a dental laboratory or dental office
