Clinical Psychologist – Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) at Brookhaven Hospital

Location: Tulsa, OK
Status: Full-time

Brookhaven Hospital’s Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) is a nationally recognized leader in Brain Injury Rehabilitation. We specialize in helping individuals with acquired brain injuries who also face neurobehavioral syndromes and co-occurring challenges such as substance use and mental health disorders.
 

We’re currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist (PhD) to join our interdisciplinary treatment team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a robust, CARF- and Joint Commission-accredited program in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

What You’ll Do:

· Deliver evidence-based psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions to individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI), co-occurring substance use disorders, and other mental health conditions.

· Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, and nursing staff to develop and execute individualized treatment plans.

· Implement and support behavioral management strategies across in-patient and community-integrated care settings.

· Contribute to program development and ensure adherence to best practices in neurobehavioral rehabilitation.

· Provide assessments and individual therapy, facilitate family meetings and therapy sessions, participate in linking conferences, deliver treatment updates, and conduct utilization reviews and case management.

· Responsible for meeting with staff, external surveyors, consultants, and corporate representatives. Duties include ensuring compliance with regulations and recommendations, allocating program resources, managing staff schedules, and providing direct supervision.

· Engage in ongoing communication with referral sources through face-to-face meetings, telephone consultations, and formal written documentation to support continuity of care and facilitate appropriate service coordination.

· Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of performance improvement initiatives. Support staff development through training, mentoring, and promoting evidence-based practices to enhance clinical effectiveness and team performance.

What We’re Looking For:

· Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology.

· Licensed or license-eligible to practice psychology in the state of Oklahoma.

· Demonstrated experience in traumatic brain injury (TBI), substance use, and mental health disorders.

· Strong clinical assessment and therapeutic skills.

· Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining professional independence.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to move throughout facilities, including between buildings, while carrying charts and binders. Proficient in keyboard use and able to manipulate objects such as papers, binders, files, staplers, writing instruments, and telephones. Frequent repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and fingers is required.

Visual Requirements:
Ability to read print of varying sizes, with or without the use of compensatory aids.

Hearing and Speech Requirements:
Must be able to effectively communicate ideas verbally and understand detailed information through oral communication. Able to discern subtle differences in sound, including telephone conversations, with or without compensatory aids.

Cognitive Requirements:
Ability to read and write at a level sufficient for understanding and producing medical and technical documentation. Capable of tolerating ambiguity and maintaining focus in environments with multiple stimuli. Able to recall and use names of patients, staff, and guests, and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
