About the Position:

The Flinders University Psychology Clinic is seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Psychologist – Supervisor to play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of clinical psychologists.

This is a unique opportunity to combine meaningful clinical practice with supervision, teaching and mentorship within a university-based training clinic. Working primarily with children, young people and families, you will provide advanced clinical services while supporting Master of Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) students to develop their confidence, competence and professional identity in a highly supportive learning environment.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide individual and group supervision to postgraduate psychology students on placement.

  • Deliver high-quality psychological assessment and intervention services, particularly in child and adolescent mental health.

  • Mentor and assess students through feedback, reflective practice and placement evaluations.

  • Contribute to the leadership, quality improvement and ongoing development of the Psychology Clinic.

About You
You are an experienced and highly regarded Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about developing future practitioners and committed to the scientist-practitioner model of care. You enjoy mentoring emerging psychologists and thrive in an environment that combines clinical excellence, teaching and professional leadership. You bring specialised expertise in working therapeutically with children, young people and families, along with the ability to foster a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment for postgraduate students.

You will demonstrate:

  • A Masters or PhD in Clinical Psychology and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with Clinical Psychology endorsement.

  • Board-approved supervisor status (or eligibility) and experience supervising postgraduate Clinical Psychology students.

  • Advanced expertise in assessment and evidence-based interventions with children, young people and families.

  • Strong communication, clinical leadership and cultural capability, with an understanding of Aboriginal and multicultural perspectives in service delivery.

  • In addition, it is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working With Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
