The Position

The Clinical Operations Country Head (CH) provides strategic leadership to drive country-level clinical operations, ensuring effective execution of strategic objectives, compliance, resource efficiency, and continuous improvement. By collaborating with Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) and fostering strong stakeholder relationships, this role advances clinical research while prioritizing talent development and maintaining a high-performing team. The CH may also oversee affiliated countries in hub roles, lead strategic initiatives, and ensure successful vendor partnerships for impactful operational outcomes.

The Opportunity: 

  • Drive the Country Leadership Team across our therapeutic areas.

  • Partner with Global TA Leaders and Country Medical Directors to align local execution with the "One Pharma" strategy.

  • Proactively resolve resource conflicts and optimize the country portfolio to maximize patient impact.

  • Partner with CROs to implement data-driven strategies that enhance productivity and streamline workflows.

  • Maintain gold-standard adherence to local legal, financial, and ethical regulations.

  • Manage country resources and budgets with a focus on maximizing value and minimizing waste.

  • Build close relationships with Health Authorities, Ethics Committees, and Industry Groups to advance the clinical research landscape.

  • Ensure CRO partnerships are collaborative and accountable.

  • Lead by example, fostering an inclusive environment where diversity of thought is celebrated.

  • Manage and develop a pipeline of future leaders through active coaching, performance management, and career pathing.

Who you are: 

You are a visionary leader who thrives in a matrixed environment. You balance a high-level strategic mindset with the analytical rigor required to manage complex clinical operations.

  • Degree in Life Sciences 

  • 12+ years experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry.

  • Experience in drug development is essential.

  • Extensive expertise  of end-to-end clinical trial processes and local regulatory landscapes (local/Global trends).

  • A proven track record of people leadership, fostering cross-functional collaboration and influencing stakeholders at all levels. Any additional experience in a commercial environment is a strong asset.

  • Ability to thrive in an international organisation; including national and international travels as required by the business.

Preferred:  

  • MD, PhD, or Master’s preferred
