Lake Macquarie Private Hospital is a 187 bed acute Medical and advanced surgical hospital situated on the Pacific Highway at Gateshead, 15 kms south of the Newcastle CBD.
Job DescriptionAbout the Role
We have a full-time opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This role will be responsible for applying advanced knowledge and skills to facilitate the continuity and quality of care for surgical patients. The role will primarily be involved in optimisation of the patient health in readiness for their surgery, utilising our Ramsay Support Services.
Business acumen will be required to navigate the various funding models and individual patient needs, you will ensure that pre-assessments align with the planning of the multidisciplinary team & consultants.
You will strive to meet best practice length of stay requirements to ensure efficient bed management and utilisation. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide structured support and guidance to patients prior to surgery, ensuring they are clinically optimised, informed, and appropriately prepared for their upcoming procedure.
Skill and Experience
- Registered with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 12 months experience post registration in speciality area of Orthopaedic nursing
- Understanding of scope of practice in line with relevant registration
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and initiatives supporting the customer experience
- Understanding of health fund requirements for orthopaedic services (desirable)
- Proven project management skills with sound organisational and change management skills
- Strong computer literacy
Remuneration
On offer is a base hourly rate of $58.81 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (NSW Clinical Nurse/ Midwifery Specialist).
