The Clinical Manager will over-see the day-to-day operations of MI Choice Home and Community Based Medicaid Waiver program team. Supervise and direct assigned staff to ensure compliance and quality with agency/departmental policies and procedures and MDHHS contract.  Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in program management. Emphasis and collaborate with the Senior Clinical Manager on productivity, performance, coaching, problem solving and mentoring.

Job Duties:

  • Direct, supervise, mentor and coach team performance in day-to-day operations to achieve program goals, including maintaining quality, compliance, and productivity. Support the assigned team to ensure compliance with set standards, MDHHS contract, departmental policy & procedures and contractual guidelines.  Proactively identify potential issues/problems and implement timely solutions and performance improvement. Resolve participant expressed concerns or issues, lead weekly team huddles and participate in department meetings prepared to contribute and/or problem solve areas requiring resolution.

  • Review Authorization Service Guides compared to Assessment and PCSP ensuring services are appropriately identified. Compare and contrast annual spending for participants' authorized services.

  • Assist with the implementation of ongoing departmental quality and performance improvement initiatives. Conduct performance reviews chart audits, and audits as deemed necessary to monitor key compliance areas. Source qualified candidates, interview, hire, and collaborate program orientation. Proactively identify department developmental/training opportunities.

  • Compile data as needed to aid in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports as requested.

  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with all departments, long term care consumers, Department of Human Services Offices, community agencies, state and local governments, hospitals, nursing facilities and other stakeholders. Model AgeWays core values.

Qualifications
  • State of Michigan Licensed RN or LMSW with 3-5 years of relevant and supervisory experience in a clinical setting, Waiver experience preferred. LBSW with 5 to 8 years' experience would be considered with experience in Waiver/clinical setting and strong management experience.
  • Microsoft Office Products Intermediate to Advanced.
  • RN or Social Work License.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, organizational, training, clinical, and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in managed care helpful.  Knowledge of community-based services and experience working with older adults or people with disabilities desired.
  • Effective time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to foster and maintain open, collaborative, and constructive relationships with co-workers and Ageways leadership to achieve departmental and operational results.
