How you’ll contribute
A Clinical Laboratory Assistant who excels in this role:
Perform phlebotomy duties as required, to include venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles.
Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information.
Transcribe physician orders
Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens.
Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.
Process, label, and store specimen samples for subsequent analysis.
Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.

What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a high school diploma.
Additional requirements include:
State MA-P (Medical Assistant Phlebotomist) or MA-C (Medical Assistant Certified)
2 years of college or an associate’s degree, preferred
3 years or more of lab related experience to include 3 months practicum gained in clinical, hospital or lab setting. Prefer prior waived testing experience.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Hourly Range: $17.67-$21.83 per hour

- High school diploma
- State MA-P Medical Assistant Phlebotomist or MA-C Medical Assistant Certified credential
- Three or more years of laboratory-related experience, including a three-month practicum in a clinical, hospital, or laboratory setting
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Two years of college or an associate degree
- Prior waived testing experience
