Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II supports the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays. Working independently under director's guidance, performs assay and equipment validation, authors standard operating procedure and develops training and competency documents and ensures quality and regulatory compliance.

Pay Range

Minimum $50.40 Midpoint $66.78 Maximum $83.16

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

* Required: Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience.

* Preferred: Two (2) to five (5) years of Clinical Laboratory experience.

Education

* Required: Bachelor degree - Biological Science.

Training

* Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

* Required: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job. Proficient knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area. Strong attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.

Licensure

* Required: Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS); Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of a General CLS.

* Preferred: American Society of Clinical Pathology.

Skills Required

  • Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of Clinical Laboratory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Science
  • Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS) licensure (Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of General CLS)
  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification
  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal/collaboration skills
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks (lift/carry up to 15 lbs, push/pull 20 lb cart, repetitive motion, standing, etc.)
