The Director of Emergency Services Clinical Operations has overall functional and integrative accountability for areas of operations, planning, marketing and the advancement of Emergency Services Clinical Operations.
The Director of Emergency Services Clinical Operations maintains standards of practice for nursing as defined by the American Nursing Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice and Nursing's society Policy Statement. He/She actualizes the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.
Serves as a key member of the Emergency Services and Capacity Management Committees. Leads and manages the clinical operations of the Emergency Services. This position is accountable to the AVP of Emergency Services for the overall management of activities while preserving the safety and satisfaction of patients and staff. This position is also accountable to the Chief Nurse Executive, Nursing Executive Leadership Staff and Members of the Nursing Executive Council in a shared governance model to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the scope of practice for Emergency Nursing Service professional practice standards and patient care outcomes.
Accountable for the activities to ensure quality, compassionate, culturally competent, effective and efficient patient care is delivered in compliance with the standards and regulations of the Montefiore Health System and Regulatory Agencies. Responsible for leading, organizing, deploying, measuring and rewarding the Emergency Services and ensuring that all team members work together to ensure all aspects of patient care, and that patient placement and registration occur in a timely fashion.
Communicates regularly with the AVP of Emergency Services, Emergency Services Chairman, Directors of Nursing, Chief of Services, nursing staff, referring physicians, medical staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to identify, monitor and solve issues and problems related to the Emergency Services.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nursing is required
- 8+ years of experience, preferably in critical care nursing, and 5-7 years of leadership experience required
- NYS RN License and Registration required
- Ability to think logically and sequentially understands redesign concepts and re-demonstrates ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Skilled in the areas of finance, operations, strategic planning, marketing, human resources, and computer technology
- Effectively influences others, develops others, fosters teamwork, and possesses initiative and strong customer service skills
- Ability to plan and organize time and resources efficiently and focuses on the integrated delivery system as it relates to capacity management and the admission & discharge process.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Skills Required
- Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Nursing
- 8+ years of nursing experience (preferably in critical care) and 5-7 years of leadership experience
- NYS RN License and Registration
