Shift/Schedule: Full Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Sign on Bonus: $10,000 (eligibility required)
Relocation: $5,000 (eligibility required)
Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status. Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors. Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services. May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies. Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management. Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes. Supervises practice experience for dietetic interns, dietetic technicians, registration eligible dietitians and new employees, participates in research, performance improvement, and initiatives. Enters complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation. Enters nutrition orders when authorized by Medical Staff policy and procedure to reflect patient care. Participates in patient care rounds, collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals to create nutrition plans of care. Promotes evidence-based nutrition care and makes expertise available to foodservice areas. Provides timely responses to internal electronic communication. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Read, write and speak English; handwriting must be legible. [Required]
- Must be knowledgeable with the National Research Council’s Recommended Dietary Allowances. [Required]
- Must be able to communicate patient nutrition needs to the physician, nursing staff, and other appropriate staff. [Required]
- Ability to apply Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process. [Required]
- Mathematical capabilities essential to job duties. [Required]
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows. [Required]
- Must be able to use a telephone, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer. [Required]
- Inter-campus travel. [Required]
- Proficiency in CBORD computerized foodservice program. [Preferred]

Education:
- Bachelor's [Required]
- Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics (AND)
- in nutrition or nutrition related field AND 3-year clinical experience
- Graduate degree in nutrition or nutrition related field AND 1-year clinical experience
- in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or nutrition related field
Work Experience:
- 2+ experience in acute care setting [Preferred]
- 3+ experience [Required]
