Job Description

Job Title: Clinical Applications Specialist
Location: 2400 Skymark Avenue, Mississauga, Ontario.
Department: Clinical Development
Reports To: Vice President of Clinical Development
Compensation: $40,000 - $80,000 + Commission
Role: Hybrid (60%+ Travel expected)

Position Summary:
Traferox is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Applications Specialist to support the adoption and successful clinical use of our organ preservation technologies. This role serves as the primary clinical resource for customers, providing education, product training, and ongoing clinical support to transplant programs.

Working closely with the Clinical Development, Commercial, Marketing, and R&D teams, the Clinical Applications Specialist will help ensure customers are confident and successful using Traferox products while also providing valuable clinical insights that support product development and commercialization efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Training & Customer Education

  • Deliver product training and onboarding programs for new clinical customers.
  • Provide in-service education for surgeons, procurement teams, perfusionists, coordinators, and operating room staff.
  • Support customer adoption by providing clinical guidance before, during, and after initial product implementation.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, educational resources, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in customer workshops, clinical demonstrations, and educational events.

Clinical Support

  • Serve as a clinical expert on Traferox products and preservation workflows.
  • Support transplant teams during product implementation and early clinical use.
  • Respond to customer questions and provide ongoing technical and clinical support.
  • Collect customer feedback and communicate clinical insights to internal teams to improve products and training.

Commercial & Marketing Support

  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Marketing teams to develop educational and promotional materials.
  • Provide clinical input on marketing strategies, product positioning, and messaging.
  • Participate in customer meetings, conferences, workshops, and industry events.
  • Support product launches through clinical education and customer engagement activities.
  • Help identify opportunities to increase product utilization through education and relationship building.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Quality, and Commercial teams.
  • Assist in developing clinical evidence summaries, presentations, and educational content.
  • Contribute customer insights to future product development initiatives.
  • Support clinical studies and post-market activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Perfusion, or a related healthcare discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical applications, medical devices, biotechnology, healthcare, or transplantation preferred.
  • Strong presentation and training skills with the ability to educate diverse clinical audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Comfortable working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites and conferences throughout North America.
  • Experience in transplantation, perfusion, surgery, or critical care is considered a strong asset.
