The Clinical Applications Manager optimizes the Nextgen PM/EMR and other clinical applications and supports the day-to-day clinical technology operations including new implementations, content management, training material and quality assurance. They collaborate with key operations and clinical leaders to identify and implement ongoing improvements to workflows and use of technology. The Clinical Applications Manager possesses and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and skill in the areas of healthcare applications and related technology. They understand healthcare software, explain technical concepts to non-technical professionals, and translate administrative and operating requirements into clear, specific, and actionable curricula and then implement accordingly.

The Clinical Application Manager is a leader for the portfolio of clinical technology applications leveraged by Georgia Urology, including Nextgen (EMR, PM, Portal, Mobile) Phreesia, PACS, LIS, Lab interfaces, and other similar or integrated Healthcare Information Technologies.

Requirements

  

· Assesses how clinical, administrative, and financial roles interact with clinical technology to help optimize workflows as they interact with the technology.

· Lead workflow analysis and technical assessments of clinical application use

· Audit and as needed train providers and/or staff meet with staff at sites, Soft Go Live and Go Live support and post-implementation support.

· Maintain and create documentation of manuals and workflows as it relates to the usage of clinical applications

· Participate and manage open support issues with clinical application vendors

· Maintain continuing education activities and actively participate in related networking and user groups to continually improve knowledge on industry technology and awareness of best of breed solutions and trends. 

· Provide support to the System Software Engineer with respect to maintaining data and reporting within the Nextgen System

· Participates in regulatory related discussions and stays current on related topics that affect Georgia Urology’s deployed clinical application software portfolio.

· Assist the Training team as needed for developing training documentation, curricula and identifying opportunities for retraining 

· Manage the clinical application team.

Skills Required

  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare applications and related technology
  • Ability to analyze clinical workflows and assess clinical application use
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into training curricula and documentation
  • Experience providing application training, go-live support, and post-implementation support
  • Experience managing clinical application vendor support issues
  • Knowledge of regulatory topics affecting clinical application software
  • Ability to manage a clinical application team
