POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Application Analyst utilizes expertise as an application expert or super-user to provide Tier II Information Technology (IT) support to Marshall Medical Center (MMC) departments and improve workflow. Provides ongoing development and defined technical support of various software applications and tools, as well as training and educational needs associated with the use of these systems. This position functions with significant discretion, independent judgment and under minimal supervision.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
Knowledge:
- Minimum of four years’ experience working in a healthcare setting or 4 years of experience in an IT related field required.
- Extensive knowledge of specific IT applications and healthcare-related software applications required.
- Experience in the use of one of more of the following technology applications required (i.e., Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Electronic Medical Record(EMR), Pharmacy Information System, Laboratory Information System, Medication Barcoding, CPOE)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Windows-based applications, including Word and Excel required, Access preferred.
- Ability to create, manage and enhance customer and vendor relationships; strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate troubleshooting information to vendor support with clear and concise explanations and documentation.
- Ability to educate end users on the proper use of technology products and effectively transfer knowledge of new techniques or change.
- Demonstrated competence in written, oral and electronic communication skills.
- Works well under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Ability to create, manage and enhance customer and vendor relationships.
- Strong analytical skills are required.
