Job Summary
The Clinical Account Specialist supports two key ZOLL product lines: TherOx and HFMS (Heart Failure Management Solutions). This role provides physician and hospital staff education and support to increase utilization and adoption of both products within assigned accounts, executing account-level business plans to drive awareness, integration, and clinical adoption.
Working in partnership with Hospital System Directors, TherOx Account Executives, and field sales teams, the Clinical Account Specialist ensures ZOLL's solutions are successfully integrated and utilized, delivering measurable value to patients and healthcare organizations. This role emphasizes account retention, expansion, and revenue growth while manage competing priorities across two product lines and multiple accounts effectively.
Essential Functions

  • Account Management & Growth:
  • Maintain consistent on-site visits to manage and grow existing accounts within assigned territories and IDNs, supporting quarterly and annual sales goals
  • Execute account-specific business plans focused on expanding product utilization and driving recurring revenue
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion, including cross-departmental adoption and multi-site standardization
  • Analyze account performance metrics and present data-driven business reviews to customers and ZOLL leadership
  • Clinical Education & Support:
  • Conduct on-site education and consulting for clinicians and allied health personnel on TherOx and HFMS products
  • Uncover and address physician and staff barriers to product utilization and adoption
  • Support customers' efforts to incorporate new therapies into hospital workflows
  • Provide training on medical device order requirements and workflows to achieve operational efficiencies
  • TherOx-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide case coverage and procedural support for TherOx therapy in the cath lab
  • Educate interventional cardiologists and cath lab staff on TherOx clinical evidence, proper technique, and patient selection criteria
  • Support integration of TherOx into STEMI and post-MI care pathways
  • HFMS-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Build trusted relationships with cardiology service lines, heart failure clinics, care management, and hospital staff
  • Ensure proper setup and maintenance of ZPM (ZOLL Patient Management system) within accounts
  • Support integration of HFMS into heart failure management protocols and discharge workflows
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
  • Partner with Hospital System Directors, TherOx Account Executives, and field sales teams to align sales strategy with clinical objectives
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with clinical and administrative stakeholders
  • Assist with quarterly business reviews and present measurable outcomes that support customer retention and growth
  • Collaborate across functional teams to resolve issues and deliver exceptional customer experience
  • Product & Market Expertise:
  • Maintain expert knowledge of TherOx and HFMS products, competitive landscape, and market trends.
  • Stay current on clinical evidence, guidelines, and best practices related to both product lines.
  • Represent ZOLL at trade shows, conferences, and customer meetings as needed.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Maintain timely and accurate Salesforce.com documentation of account activities.
  • Manage time and resources efficiently across a multi-site territory.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or Life Sciences required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Interventional cardiovascular medicine and/or medical device sales experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Work experience in a hospital cath lab, a basic knowledge of interventional cardiology procedures, and general sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and escalate customer issues in a timely manner to the supervisor.
  • Excellent follow-through skills, interpersonal skills, hardworking and be detailed oriented.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills. Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel up to 60–70% as required, including overnight travel

Compensation

  • The “at plan” compensation (Base Salary + Variable Incentive Compensation) for this position is $140,000 which includes a base salary of $100,000 and bonus in accordance with the company’s sales compensation plan.

The annual salary for this position is:

$100,000.00 to $100,000.00
