Job Summary This role is an active member of the front desk team and works to welcome patient families for their appointment and serves as liaison between patient families and the clinical team. This position reports to the Primary Care Practice Manager and collaborates with the Lead Clinic Coordinator and Regional Access Specialist for optimal outcomes. Essential Functions - Provides exceptional patient experience by assisting patients, parents, providers and other staff through the standard front desk functions, including check-in and check-out services following access modules and Patient Experience Promise. - Utilizes EPIC scheduling applications and work queues to facilitate appointment scheduling, wait list management, reschedule list, cancelled appointments, registration work queues, patient communication/texting platform and In Basket Review. - Support registration of patients and/or legal guardians with a MyChart account and access - Secures appropriate release of information authorization; maintains HIPPA compliance. - Enters all registration information accurately and completely per Appointment Scheduling Module and Complete Registration Document. This includes obtaining demographics, proper consent, insurance cards/information, as applicable, etc. Ensures entire checklist is completed. - Maintains proficiency with EPIC and other applications or competencies as required. - Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Children’s Organizational Code of Ethics and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to Children's business. - Monitors WELL platform and responds in a timely and professional manner. Education: - High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) Required Experience: - 1+ years related work experience Required - 1+ years work experience in a healthcare setting Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of medical terminology (quiz to be completed prior to hire), medical menu software, medical billing, patient scheduling and business office procedures preferred. - Requires excellent interpersonal skills in order to assist patients, parents, and physicians and other staff. - Requires good concentration skills in order to serve a variety of people in a fast paced environment and to handle incoming calls in an efficient and accurate manner. - Required flexibility in order to prioritize efforts to meet needs of the patients, parents, physicians and other staff. - Ability to assist and support other primary care locations as requested by leaders and/or the Children’s Medical Group float policy. Skills Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or HSED
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for assisting patients, families, physicians, and staff
  • Strong concentration and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to prioritize patient and staff needs
  • Ability to support other primary care locations as requested
  • At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of medical menu software, medical billing, patient scheduling, and business office procedures
