Clinic Supervisor (Dermatology Clinic)
St Michaels House, St. Michaels Street, Shrewsbury, SY1 2HE
Permanent, Full time 40 hours per week
Paying £33,600 per annum dependent on experience and qualifications
Role Overview:
As a Clinic Supervisor you will be accountable to support the Practice Manager to drive and improve the operational performance across the Dermatology service and ensure customers receive the highest standards of customer service and satisfaction.
The Clinic Supervisor will take accountability for quality improvements and people management and will drive a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing demand, understanding customer’s needs (adults and children) and deliver process improvements.
What you'll do:
- To drive and manage operational efficiencies across the service through effective utilisation and efficient scheduling of resources. Continually strive for profitable growth, driving innovation and keeping the customer at the centre of everything we do.
- Support the collection of the right management information and interpretation of the data using the expertise of the clinical team around you.
- To support in analysing failure demand, customer satisfaction results, complaints, and immediate feedback.
- Work towards understanding the root cause and put in place speedy remedial actions.
- Ensure your team complies with internal and external standards and passes any internal and external inspections including the First Line Audits, ISO compliance audits.
- Understand the service finances so you can support the Practice Manager to
respond quickly to changes within the external environment which impact on the services profitability. - Measure financial performance and understand any variation.
- Take ownership on capacity management and come up with innovative solutions to maximise capacity and seek opportunities for getting increased revenue into the service.
- Understand and track all costs and seek to continuously look to reduce operating costs.
- Ensure all financials end of day checks are managed efficiently and follow the
Dermatology Partnerships processes. - Responsible for ordering all consumables in support and direction of Lead Nurse.
- Carry out first stage approval of all clinics related invoices.
- Ensure a robust process in place to charge for bloods and histology, and in turn
approve the corresponding supplier invoices.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience working in NHS or a hospital setting
- EMIS system. (Training will be provided.)
- Good communication skills and have the ability to lead/ drive the team.
- To be able to build rapport with consultants.
- KPI driven.
- Understanding data analysis and to be able to create reports.
- Dermatology experience (Desirable)
- Must be able to work in a highly pressurised environment and be able to cope with and implement frequent change.
