The Clinic Nurse will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care and support to patients living with HIV and at risk for HIV in our clinic setting. In this role, you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary health care team in addressing both the medical and social needs of our patients. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and support to a diverse patient population. 

 

OUR EXPECTATIONS:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and assessment of current symptoms or concerns. 
  • Administer medications, and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with medication administration protocols. 
  • Assist with procedures such as phlebotomy, suture removal, and wound care as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), documenting assessments, history, interventions, and patient interactions according to clinic protocols and regulatory standards.  
  • Provide education to patients on their health conditions, medications, and self-care management. 
  • Triage and prioritize patient needs, ensuring timely access to care and appropriate referrals. 
  • Process patient referrals for specialty care and follow-up, as needed, to ensure quality specialty care was provided. 
  • Collaborate with medical providers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals, both internally and externally, to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.  
  • Assist in planning, managing and coordinating patient flow in clinic areas and day-to-day operations of the clinic. 
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care, identify areas for improvement, and implement evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes. 
  • Participate in research projects, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes. 
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by the supervisor.  
  • Adherence to all agency policies, including Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, and other relevant policies.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Required and preferred knowledge and experiences to succeed.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license. 
  • An Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address clinical challenges and patient concerns. 
  • Effective organizational skills to manage patient records, documentation, and clinic workflows. 
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology. 
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction. 
  • Experience working in HIV/AIDS care preferred but not required. 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • HIV experience in a not-for-profit environment.

Salary

Starting at $72,000 (Depending on Experience)

The final salary will be determined based on factors such as market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications. Please note that it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.
