Job Description:  Clinic Manager

The Clinic Manager is part of a dynamic and collaborative leadership team that oversees the daily operations of the healthcare clinic, ensuring patients receive safe, high-quality, timely care while maintaining efficient workflows and supporting clinical and administrative staff. This position reports to the Regional Director.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily clinic operations and ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Supervise, support, and coordinate clinical and administrative staff.
  • Develop staff schedules and ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
  • Monitor staff performance, productivity, attendance, and professional development; annual employee evaluations. 
  • Ensure excellent patient experience and address patient concerns or complaints.
  • Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, administrative staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, organizational policies, and clinical standards.
  • Monitor infection prevention, patient safety, medication procedures, and quality standards.
  • Monitor clinic supplies, equipment, inventory, and ordering.
  • Participate in audits, quality-improvement projects, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflow improvements.
  • Recruitment/hiring, new hire onboarding, training, competency assessment, and ongoing education of staff.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to meet organizational and departmental goals.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and patient-centered workplace environment.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, employees, physicians, providers and the public to promote a professional health care environment.
  • Stays current on electronic health records (EHR) changes and ensures accurate and timely documentation in patient records; acts as EHR Super User for the clinical staff. 
  • Monitors, edits, and approves PTO & timecards.  
  • Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to clinical and administrative staff.
  • Monitor staffing levels, workloads, clinical priorities, and the quality, safety, and effectiveness of patient care.
  • Promote infection prevention, medication safety, safeguarding, and other clinical standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with relevant healthcare legislation and professional standards.
  • Respond appropriately to patient concerns, complaints, and clinical incidents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience with managing staff and operations.
  • Knowledge of health care administration, business administration or other related fields. The equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited bachelor’s degree program.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare facility that includes experiences and knowledge of medical practice, clinic management, clinic operational structure systems and clinic policies, procedures and processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible in learning and handling a variety of duties.

Skills Required

  • At least 2 years of experience managing staff and operations
  • Knowledge of healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field, equivalent to a regionally accredited bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare facility, including medical practice and clinic management knowledge
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and flexibly handle a variety of duties
