This position plays a critical role in supporting the organization's efforts to measure, report, and optimize its value-accretive ESG and climate programs. This role involves working closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting. The associate will contribute to the planning and execution of corporate reports, collaborating with subject matter experts to develop report content and ensuring compliance with emerging global regulations.

Additionally, the associate will support the execution of firm-wide value-creating climate initiatives and preparation of climate-related reports, such as TCFD, GHG emissions, and SEC Climate Rule, helping to drive transparency and accountability. The associate will stay informed about voluntary ESG standards and frameworks, as well as emerging climate-related regulations, to provide valuable insights and support the organization's climate-related efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • ESG Reporting

    • Support execution and publication of corporate reporting

    • Contribute to the planning, project management, and process development to enable corporate reporting

    • Collaborate with business unit ESG teams and other subject matter experts throughout the firm to develop report content

    • Support coordination of compliance readiness to ensure corporate reporting strategy, content, and infrastructure is in place to meet emerging global regulations (e.g. TCFD, IFRS, CSRD)

    • Maintain working knowledge of voluntary ESG standards and frameworks and how the ESG reporting industry is evolving

  • Climate

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and information for climate reporting purposes

    • Support the coordination and execution of firm-wide climate initiatives, including Blackstone’s Decarbonization Accelerator

    • Conduct research and stay updated on emerging climate-related regulations, frameworks, and reporting guidelines

    • Support efforts to prepare content, data, and information for climate-related reports, such as TCFD, GHG Emissions, SEC Climate Rule

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional research and reporting experience

  • Strong understanding of ESG and climate principles and frameworks, preferably TCFD, CDP, and GHG Protocol

  • Familiarity with emerging global regulations and reporting guidelines related to ESG and climate

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business)

Expected annual base salary range:

$92,000 - $140,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
