Transform lives, every single day

Do you want a career that means more? At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, the support and the strategy to make it happen.

For over 170 years, Anglicare has been serving people in need. We began because people saw a need and were compelled to make a difference, and that purpose continues today.

Our vision is simple yet powerful: Jesus Christ honoured, lives enriched and communities strengthened.

As our Client Services Officer, you’ll be the welcoming first point of contact for people accessing our services at our Nowra site, providing professional reception and administrative support while helping create a calm, respectful and organised environment.

Many of the people you meet may be experiencing challenging circumstances, crisis or complex needs. Your ability to communicate with warmth, sensitivity and professionalism will help ensure every person feels welcomed and respected from the moment they arrive.

Your opportunity

Working within our Community Services team, you’ll combine front-desk client service with practical administrative support to help keep the site and its programs running smoothly.

You’ll welcome clients and visitors, respond to enquiries and help connect people with appropriate Anglicare services. You’ll also support day-to-day site administration including records management, supplies, contractors, mail, rooms, equipment, property maintenance and general operational support.

With integrity and compassion, you will:

  • Welcome clients and visitors in a warm, professional and courteous manner.
  • Respond to general enquiries and help connect people with relevant Anglicare services.
  • Communicate calmly and effectively with vulnerable clients, including people who may be experiencing crisis or complex circumstances.
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriately manage sensitive client information, records and documentation.
  • Support day-to-day site operations including sign-in processes, supplies, mail, contractors, rooms, equipment and maintenance requests.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Site Operations Manager and onsite programs.
  • Identify and appropriately escalate safety concerns while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve administration and the overall functioning of the site.

What you’ll bring

You’re warm, organised and professional, with the ability to make people feel welcome while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

You understand that great client service looks different when someone may be vulnerable or experiencing a difficult time. You can listen, respond calmly and sensitively, and know when an issue needs to be escalated.

You’re also an organised administrator who can manage competing priorities, work across multiple programs and build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders.

You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in an administration and/or Client Services Officer role within a similar environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vulnerable clients.
  • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple programs and services.

The successful candidate will also be required to meet Anglicare’s probity requirements, including a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
