Job Description:We are looking for a high-impact Kubernetes SRE who lives at the intersection of deep systems engineering and technical evangelism. This isn’t a "ticket-closer" role; you will be the bridge between our vSphere Kubernetes Services (VKS) Engineering team and our most strategic customers.You will take the pulse of the industry, translate complex customer pain points into innovative architectural solutions, and serve as a public-facing voice for our K8s ecosystem through innovative solutioning, technical blogging, and thought leadership.
Engineering Collaboration: Partner directly with VKS Engineers to troubleshoot, architect, and refine the core platform based on real-world edge cases.
Customer Advocacy: Interface with customers to dissect highly complex, distributed systems issues and articulate them back to the product team as actionable roadmaps.
Innovative Problem Solving: Don't just fix the problem but build tools and patterns that prevent them. You’ll develop "Day 2" operations solutions that push the boundaries of cloud-native scalability.
Evangelism & Industry Voice: Act as a technical influencer. You will write deep-dive blog posts, white papers, and technical articles that showcase our solutions and contribute to the broader CNCF community.
Mentorship: Lead the "field" teams by educating them on K8s best practices and ensuring that core innovation is effectively adopted by users.
Certifications: You should hold a current CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer). CKS is a major plus.
Bachelor degree plus 12+ years or Master degree plus 10+ years related experience preferred.
K8s Expertise: Deep experience with Kubernetes internals (compute, networking, storage) and managing production clusters at scale.
Infrastructure as Code: Mastery of Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD or Flux).
Observability: Proficiency in Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger/OpenTelemetry to diagnose "ghosts in the machine."
Scripting/Coding: Strong proficiency in BASH or Python for building custom solutions and automations.
The Translator: You can explain a race condition in a CNI plugin to a CTO and a developer with equal clarity.
The Creator: You enjoy the "blank page" and have a portfolio of blogs, GitHub repos, or conference talks (KubeCon, local meetups, etc.).
The Architect: You think in systems and patterns, not just commands.
You will have a seat at the table with the engineers building the next generation of vSphere Kubernetes Services. This role offers the unique opportunity to stay technically "hands-on-keyboard" while building a significant personal and professional brand within the global Kubernetes community.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $106,900 - $190,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
