Position Overview

The Client Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and providing project support on various client and business development initiatives and objectives, including targeting new client opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships. The role is also responsible for coordinating logistics, tracking activities and action items, preparing research and reporting, and supporting timely follow-up.

Key Accountabilities
  • Reporting to the Director, Client Development and working closely with the Client Development Specialists, the Client Development Coordinator will work with key internal stakeholders, including the firm’s Managing Partner and Chief Strategy & Growth Officer (CGSO) to: Assist with the execution of the Client Feedback Program, including tracking notes of discussions and action items, and conducting follow-ups as needed, as well as ensuring there is a regular pipeline of client touchpoints, including feedback sessions.
  • Conduct research and compile information to support client development initiatives and event logistics. Gather and organize information on the firm’s top clients to deliver a cohesive summary to relevant stakeholders, including the latest financial data, pitches, top matters, relevant news items, public annual meetings, and more with respect to each client.
  • In collaboration with the Events team and Marketing Technology team, support the planning and execution of custom events with a goal to reinforce client relationships, reflect the firm’s breadth of expertise, and increase lawyer engagement. This includes high-profile, exclusive networking events and socials i.e. General Counsel dinners and the annual IBA conference, as well as practice-focused, alumni and other networking events and socials.
  • Support the roll-out of the Client Relationship Management Program and practice group meetings, as applicable, including setting up touchpoints with team members, taking minutes, collecting and managing action items, and facilitating follow-ups that may be required.
  • Contribute observations and ideas to support client development initiatives, including improvement of coordination, tracking, reporting and follow-up.
  • Coordinate and support on all aspects of the Client Referral Program, in support of the Director, Client Development and CSGO.
  • Organize and keep current internal databases to track BD and client development activities and prepare reports, including trackers, contact lists, event records, client team lists and action items.
  • Support other client and business development efforts, as required, including marketing materials.
Attributes & Experience

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in a business or marketing related program, or equivalent experience to successfully complete the essential requirements of the role.
  • 2-3 years of previous related experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services firm.
  • Proficient in MS Office product suite.

Hybrid

This position is part of our hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week. As part of our onboarding, new hires are required to be in the office more often for the first few months of employment to ensure they receive the requisite cross training.
