Your Key Responsibilities (commercial emphasis) :

• Partner with Placement, Advisory Leaders and Client Executives to design renewal and placement strategies that protect clients while maximising commercial outcomes.

• Analyse carrier quotes and commercial terms, advising senior colleagues and clients on solutions that balance cover with competitiveness and profitability.

• Support business development activities—prepare compelling RFP responses, client pitches and tender material that win new mandates and expand existing relationships.

• Drive renewals and negotiations with a commercial lens: identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, shape terms to enhance client value and margin, and progress deals to close.

• Manage follow-ups with underwriters to ensure accuracy of coverage and timely endorsement of commercially critical changes.

• Build and nurture strong client and market relationships—proactively develop a pipeline of opportunities and keep abreast of competitor and market moves.

• Share market insight internally to help shape product positioning, pricing and service propositions that improve retention and attract new clients.

What You Bring to the Table :

Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent qualification.

• Fluent in English and Dutch.

• 7–10 years’ experience in Marine Hull, or relevant background in P&I, Chartering or MGA

• Practical, proactive approach with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple commercial priorities.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and discretion handling confidential information.

• Commercial instinct—able to identify client needs, propose value-added solutions and support profitable outcomes.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills—able to craft persuasive client-facing documents and pitches.

• Solid understanding of marine insurance coverages and market dynamics.

• Experience in claims handling or negotiating terms is highly valued.
