Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for operating accounting functions across multiple areas: A/P, A/R, General Ledger, payroll, etc. The ideal candidate will understand the accounting lifecycle and how these functions result in financial statement preparation. DRT and the Accounting function are fast-paced organizations, with multiple deadlines that must be met – focus on meeting deadlines is critical for success. We are looking for a problem-solver and self-starter, who possesses very strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and peer review NFIP Finance deliverables and work products per Statement of Work (SOW) 
  • Analyze and review financial data; provide timely, value-added analysis and reporting to the NFIP organization and management   
  • Develop and implement processes, procedures and reporting to enhance the NFIP financial management business processes 
  • Perform NFIP accounting and reporting functions assigned 
  • Identify and correct differences between subsidiary ledger balances and control account balances in the general ledger 
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies 
  • Support annual audits and prepare audit requests 
  • Provide cross-training on NFIP business processes to team members as appropriate 
  • Comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) 
  • Process and review LOC expense reimbursements 
  • Performing various other NFIP accounting and reporting functions as directed 
Require Experience:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Must be proactive, adaptable and possess learning agility
  • Experience collaborating with teams, and functioning as a team player
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on needs and expectations
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Federal Government Contracting, in small to mid-sized organizations
Education & Training:
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting (or Business with concentration in accounting)
Salary Range:
  • $80,000-90,000K
  • Salary commensurate with experience.
