We are seeking an Associate, Commodities OTC Confirmations, to support the post-trade confirmation lifecycle for over-the-counter (OTC) commodity derivatives. In this role, you will assist with drafting, matching, dispatching, and tracking confirmations while working closely with senior team members, Front Office, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and external counterparties. The ideal candidate will bring a strong operational mindset, attention to detail, willingness to learn commodity products, and the ability to work accurately within defined procedures and regulatory timelines.

Your key responsibilities
- Support the daily drafting, matching, dispatch, and execution tracking of OTC commodity trade confirmations in line with agreed procedures and timelines. Review trade economics and confirmation details to identify discrepancies, exceptions, or missing information, and escalate items promptly to senior team members where required.
- Assist with monitoring outstanding confirmations, ageing items, and follow-ups to support adherence to regulatory dispatch and execution expectations, including CFTC, FCA and EMIR requirements.
- Work with Front Office, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Operations teams, and external counterparties to help resolve confirmation queries and economic breaks.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation, and Straight-Through Processing (STP) initiatives by identifying recurring issues and supporting testing or data clean-up activities.
- Maintain accurate records, trackers, and procedural documentation to support audit readiness and operational transparency.
- Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed in line with standard procedures and agreed timelines
Your skills and experience
- 6+ years of experience in derivatives commodity confirmation operations,
- Good understanding of OTC derivative trade lifecycle and exposure to commodity products such as power, natural gas, crude, metals, or agricultural commodities.
- Awareness of ISDA documentation concepts and a willingness to build deeper knowledge of the 2005 ISDA Commodity Definitions.
- Basic awareness of regulatory expectations relating to trade confirmations and timely follow-up, including CFTC, EMIR, and FCA requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with trackers, reconciliations, workflow tools, and document generation platforms; exposure to AI, SQL, VBA, or Python would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and commitment to completing tasks accurately within agreed timelines.
- Ability to identify issues, escalate appropriately, and contribute to practical process improvements.
- Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external counterparties.
- Flexibility to work in shifts based on business requirements.
