Cleanup Person

The Marathon Los Angeles Refinery is currently seeking applicants to fill full-time Coker Storage Cleanup person positions at our Carson, CA locations. The Cleanup Person for the Operations Department will perform moderate skill level work using simple hand tools.  Keep area clean of coke.  Ability to drive skip loader, water truck and street sweeper.  Clean up any coke spillage as necessary in the conveyor belt system, the screen house, the tunnel (belt 4) and other surrounding area.  May have to work in small and confined spaces. To ensure safe operations, new hires must also successfully complete training and participate in continuous random drug and alcohol screenings. Successful candidates will have a solid understanding of physical science, chemistry and mathematics, including algebra; a passing score on pre-employment test including mechanical aptitude, reading and mathematics.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
• Military experience preferred.
• Valid Driver License Required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work performed at ground level and at heights on concrete, metal grating, gravel, asphalt, and piping surfaces, while climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying 10-20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds with mechanical assistance and working in confined spaces. Must be able to work safely and in adverse conditions in various forms of PPE such as fresh air masks.

Schedule: Clean-up person works 12 hour rotating shift schedules (day and night) and must be available for overtime and often work holidays.

Pay and Benefits: Minimum starting Clean Up person rate is $35.21/hour. Highly competitive benefits including retirement and medical.  These are represented positions within the refinery.
