Description

Solterra Academy provides comprehensive special education for students aged 5 to 22 requiring intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental, and/or learning challenges. Our dedication lies in the cooperative, self-motivated, adjusted, and academically accomplished development of each child.

Join our team as a Classroom Support Staff member, assisting teachers and support teams in implementing academic, vocational, and behavioral programs in the classroom and surrounding school environment. Under teacher and administration supervision, you'll provide support for activities, transitions, and implement needed behavioral interventions. Record student performance data and contribute to creating a safe environment through effective TCI and PBIS practices. This role may involve rotating among various classrooms.

$1,000 Sign On Bonus Available

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:45 PM (In-Person)

Summer Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (In-Person)

Please note: This position requires a year-round commitment, including both the regular school year and our summer session. We do not offer summer-only employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide active supervision and assist students within the classroom and throughout the school environment.
  • Assist students with academic tasks.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with assigned students.
  • Provide feedback to students in a therapeutic manner.
  • Collect data on student behaviors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Previous experience working with children with severe behaviors is a plus
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire (training provided by Solterra Academy).
  • Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention required with the first training course provided after hire date (training provided by Solterra Academy).

Background Check Requirements

All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which include drug testing based on the position description and job requirements. All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of the background check.
