Role Overview:
We are seeking CLASS Classroom Observers to join our team to conduct CLASS observations in Infant, Toddler, and Pre-Kindergarten classrooms for Henry Booth House. Observers must be trained and reliable on the CLASS tool for the age level being observed or be willing to be trained and become reliable. Observers must maintain their CLASS certification throughout the project and complete ongoing calibration as directed by project leadership. The ideal candidate excels at customer service and has excellent people skills, thrives in an environment that emphasizes teamwork, and is driven to improve students' lives; this role may be for you!
Observation Locations:
Chicago, Illinois
Role:
- Conduct objective observations using the CLASS tool to assess classroom interactions.
- Submit accurate data to help clients make informed decisions about program outcomes.
Availability:
- Be available to conduct observations at least three to five days per week.
- Be available for mandatory project-specific training throughout the duration of the project.
- Project-specific training times and dates will be set during the course of the project.
- A mandatory project information session will be held and must be attended by Observers prior to being scheduled for an observation.
- Participate in a weekly project check-in meeting throughout the project's duration.
- Complete data entry and other post-observation work as defined by project leadership in a timely manner.
Certification, Fidelity and Data Collection:
- Current Pre-K, Infant and Toddler CLASS tool certification OR willingness to attend a virtual training and pass an online certification test.
- Participate successfully in ongoing calibrations as directed by project leadership.
- Within 24 hours of each observation, complete post-observation data entry
- Adhere strictly to all CLASS observation and project-specific protocols at all stages of the project, from training and certification, to observation and data entry, and record-keeping.
- Interact with school administration, office staff, and teachers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Use online communication and invoicing tools such as Slack and Bill.com (training on specific platforms provided).
You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field; Child development or Education preferred.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience using the CLASS tool to conduct live observations is preferred.
- Experience conducting observations or administering assessments in school settings is preferred.
- Experience in quantitative or qualitative data collection is preferred.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, punctuality, and organization
