SompoRe has a unique opportunity for a Reinsurance Claims Trainee on our Reinsurance team.
Our Trainee Program is an 18-to-24 month program beginning in late Spring/early Summer 2027 designed to equip you with the essential business and technical skills needed to build a successful career in the reinsurance industry.
As an Claims Trainee you will receive hands-on training by working closely with highly experienced claims professionals, gaining in-depth knowledge of the organization's business units and claims handling philosophy. Through on-the-job learning, workplace mentoring and directed self-study, this program prepares you to earn claims handling authority at Sompo.
Our Trainees work directly on projects, building relationships and identifying underwriting and customers’ needs. Sompo’s Trainee Program serves as a launchpad for career advancement, empowering you to acquire the knowledge and skills essential for success in your respective field.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Additional requirements include:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Graduation date between May 2026 and May 2027

• Ability to articulate ideas clearly through written and verbal communication
• Solution-oriented mindset and data analytical skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others
• Adaptability to new challenges and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Local to the desired office location or able to arrange housing and transportation in the area to support an in-office working arrangement while in the Trainee Program
• Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States without restriction
Salary Range: $70,000 – $77,500 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
