GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Claims Support Tech handles incoming claims and claims-related correspondence, scanning go documentation, claims data validation, manual claim entry and other related work in support of the Claims Administration department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Individuals in this position may perform any or all the below listed duties. These should be interpreted as examples of the work and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
1. Assists with the operations of the Claims Administration department.
2. Ensures all incoming claims and claims-related correspondence are handled and processed efficiently and promptly, according to departmental procedures.
3. Performs scanning and data validation and correction of paper claims documentation to ensure accuracy of claims OCR data.
4. Performs manual entry of submitted claims data as needed.
5. Effectively prioritizes and completes all assigned tasks within appropriate timeframes and with required level of quality.
6. Openly participates in team meetings, providing ideas and suggestions to ensure departmental efficiency and quality, and to promote teamwork.
7. Maintain required compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards.
8. Maintains or exceeds all established standards for performance, quality and timeliness.
9. Supports the Claims department in review, investigation, and research of claims documentation issues.
10. Demonstrate business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to all Health System and Health Plan policies and procedures.
11. Assists with other related work responsibilities as requested.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
• One year certification from college or technical school, or one-year related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum High school graduate or GED required.
