About the Program: 

We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to join our Claims, New Graduate Rotational Program. This program is designed for students who are either about to graduate, or who have graduated within the last two years. The Program will provide recent graduates with a comprehensive understanding of the core functions within Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance claims. As a participant in the program, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop a broad skill set in claims management, leadership development, customer service, and more, through a structured rotation across different areas of the business.  

The program includes a structured learning plan, plenty of social opportunities to interact and meet others in the field, and access to business leaders who’ll guide and mentor you along the way. Learning through experience, you’ll have the chance to contribute to the growth of our business from the start.  

When your program is complete, you'll have advanced business knowledge of the company, new skills and insights, excellent growth opportunities, and are expected to continue your career path by obtaining a role within one of the rotational areas.   


Rotational program length: Two years — four placements of varying lengths in the business areas listed 

Rotation business areas: Automotive/Property Claims, Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, Business Intelligence, Vendor Management, Special Investigations Unit, Subrogation 


What can you expect in this role? 

  • At the entry-level, the incumbent will help investigate, evaluate, process, and settle insurance claims, including auto, property, injury, and liability claims 
  • Assess the validity of claims by reviewing policy terms, determining coverage, and analyzing evidence to determine the extent of the insurer’s liability 
  • Communicate with policyholders, claimants, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide claims status updates 
  • Work with claimants, lawyers, and other parties to negotiate fair settlements that comply with policy terms and company guidelines 
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all communications, investigations, and settlements related to claims 
  • Collaborate with various departments, such as Claims, Underwriting and Legal to review policies, ensure compliance and adjudicate claims to successful closure 
  • Provide exceptional support to claims customers, displaying empathy and understanding while explaining coverage, claims process, and addressing any concerns or questions 
  • Efficiently manage time to handle multiple claims and tasks 
  • Resolve customer and vendor disputes  
  • Analyze claims data to identify patterns, potential areas for concern and make informed decisions based on available information and guidelines 
  • Apply ethical principles to ensure fairness and integrity in the claims handling process

  • Degree or diploma in business, economics, science, criminology, psychology, insurance or a relevant discipline   
  • Strong financial acumen 
  • Willingness to obtain your Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP)  
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Collaborative; team player

Salary Range: $51,300 - $94,400
