This role oversees the administration of claims activities across all Ingram entities, excluding marine claims managed by a separate team. The Claims Manager partners with internal stakeholders at all levels and works closely with insurance providers to ensure timely and effective resolution of claims.
Job DescriptionWhat you will be doing:
Workers’ Compensation:
- Supervising, administering, investigating, and controlling all facets of workers’ compensation claims in the self-administered states. Monitoring, controlling, and directing outside third-party administrators or insurance companies, in the handling of workers’ compensation claims in all other states.
- Developing and determining all required case management and litigation strategies on applicable workers’ compensation claims. Directing all outside attorneys relative to workers’ compensation claims or others involved with Claims Manager responsibility.
- Approving all workers’ compensation medical, legal, rehabilitation, etc. invoices related to self-administer states.
- Developing and/or evaluating settlement values and negotiation strategy on all workers’ compensation claims.
- Educating and providing reports to profit centers on applicable workers’ compensation statutes and benefits provided by law and claims costs.
Interacting and developing with applicable individual location management:
- Effective return to work programs for injured associates.
- Training of local supervision in effective accident investigation and case management practices.
Developing relationships and establishing medical providers or any other service providers that are required to support the timely and effective treatment of injured associates.
Adjusting and working with applicable insurance company claims personnel on claims under the general liability, automobile liability, and property and marine insurance programs.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7–9 years of experience, including management responsibilities
- Experience in claims administration, with significant experience in multi-state workers’ compensation, automobile liability, and general liability claims, and knowledge in marine claims preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to interface with all levels of management
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
