Why we exist

Most compensation plans in Belgium are stuck in the past: low-yield products, low transparency, endless paperwork. Meanwhile, employees are stressed about money and HR teams are buried in admin.

That’s where WARREN comes in. We’re pioneering Wealth Enablement: a new category that makes pension, benefits and investing options modern, transparent, and actually valued. Employers love us because we help them attract and retain talent. Employees love us because their money finally works for them.

We’ve secured our pension fund license, a first-of-its-kind in Belgium, and momentum is exploding. As we scale, the quality of our operations is what separates a good experience from a great one.

What you'll own

If a member of one of our pension plans becomes unable to work due to illness or injury, or if a member passes away, their family should be able to count on us. Today, the handling of these claims (intake, assessment, payment, and everything in between) runs through an external administrator. We're bringing it in-house because we want to control it and be close to our members. You'll be the one who builds and owns it.

This isn't a role where you'll step into an established team with mature tools and processes already in place. You'll build this capability inside Warren from the ground up; manual at first, with systems and automation growing around you as you go. You'll be the named point of contact for members going through some of the hardest moments in their working lives, and you'll define what they hear from us, when, and how.

You won't do this alone. You'll work with Engineering to turn manual work into internal tools (and you're encouraged to build your own AI tools along the way), with an external medical adviser on assessments, and with Finance on payments and reporting. There's no finished playbook waiting for you; you'll write it and shape how Warren handles work disability and death claims for years to come.

The day to day

01 — Claim Intake & Member Experience

  • Be a member's or beneficiary’s first point of contact after a claim is filed, guiding them through what happens next in plain, human language

  • Send members one clear checklist of what's needed and why it’s needed

  • Acknowledge receipt of documents quickly, follow up only on what's missing, and keep members informed at every step

  • Recognise when a case needs a more personal touch (e.g. a phone call instead of an email) and adapt accordingly

02 — Assessment, Decisions & Medical Coordination

  • Check coverage, waiting periods and policy conditions, and decide straightforward claims administratively

  • Route cases that need medical judgement to our external advising doctor, and translate their conclusion into a clear decision for the member

  • Communicate decisions with the reasoning explained in plain language

03 — Payments, Renewals & Case Follow-Up

  • Calculate and process benefit payments in line with the applicable plan conditions

  • Manage renewals and ongoing cases

  • Follow up on changes in a member's situation (return to work, change in incapacity degree, and so on) and close cases with a clear, appropriately-toned final message

04 — Building the Function

  • Design the checklists, templates and ways of working that don't exist yet, since you're the one creating them

  • Keep a close eye on where manual work is piling up, and flag or help build the automation that should eventually replace it

  • Work with Warren's operations and compliance team to make sure the process holds up under regulatory scrutiny, Warren is an FSMA-licensed pension fund

This Role Is for You If…
  • You have real experience handling work disability, income-protection, death/life insurance, or similar insurance claims, you're not learning the vocabulary or the mechanics from scratch

  • You are entrepreneurial and hands-on: you're excited to build a new function from a blank page, not inherit a finished one

  • You're genuinely comfortable running things manually for a while, you'd rather ship something that works today and improve it than wait for the perfect system

  • You communicate empathetically and clearly: you know how to deliver difficult news to someone who's worried about their income, with care and without jargon

  • You are detail-obsessed and structured: in a regulated environment, the paperwork matters as much as the phone call

  • You are a strong communicator, equally comfortable with members and an external doctor

  • You speak fluent Dutch and English. French is a plus

Most importantly: you want to build something that doesn't exist yet, and you take real pride in being the person a member can rely on.

Skills Required

  • Experience handling work disability, income protection, death or life insurance, or similar insurance claims
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on approach to building a new function from scratch
  • Comfort working manually while processes and systems are developed
  • Empathetic and clear communication when handling sensitive member situations
  • Strong attention to detail and structured working style in a regulated environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with members and external medical advisers
  • Fluent Dutch and English
  • French language skills
