A day in the life.
As our Claims Consultant on the Claims team, you’ll serve as a claims advocate for clients by taking claim calls, completing site visits as needed for severe losses, and promptly submitting claims to the carrier. Additionally, you’ll review and analyze policies to make sure all applicable coverage is triggered in the event of a loss, and use strong judgment to analyze, prioritize, and interpret information with minimal guidelines. Alongside, managing claims through resolution while communicating clearly with clients and internal team members on claim status, issues, and next steps. You’ll also provide expert workers’ compensation guidance by applying in-depth knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, regulations, and industry practices. Finally, you will build strong carrier relationships with adjusters and other claims team members, communicate effectively as issues arise, and work toward efficient resolution that supports client needs and carrier objectives.
- Serve as a claims “go-to” resource in the marketplace by being active within the agency and the community, sharing claims knowledge, and reinforcing how claims outcomes impact a broader risk management program.
- Provide coverage and claims strategy advice to clients and internal team members.
- Continue building expertise through ongoing education to stay ahead of trends in coverage issues and claims technical skills.
- Educate clients and colleagues through intentional training, education platforms, and claims case studies.
- Monitor trends in claims activity and proactively communicate patterns, emerging coverage concerns, and any carrier-related issues to agency teams to drive awareness and action.
- Remit claims-related data (loss statistics, key trends, and cost-reduction opportunities) to support action plans that help manage a client’s total cost of risk.
- Provide recommendations to internal marketing, sales, and service teams regarding trending coverage issues to help mitigate risk and strengthen clients’ understanding of available coverage within their risk management portfolio.
- Support agency and departmental goals related to retention, upsell, and new sales.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the department and agency.
- Demonstrate the agency’s Code of Conduct and contribute to a strong work environment and culture.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:
A strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations
- Property & Casualty license
- 5+ years of experience working in claims, customer service, underwriting, commercial lines insurance for a carrier or broker preferred
- Good interpersonal skills and a high sense of urgency
- Must have the ability to work under pressure and multi-task
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment and communicate effectively
These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources, communication, or a related field
- CRM, CIC, CPCU or other applicable designation required within 3 years of hire
- CWCP designation
