Are you ready to expand your knowledge, grow your network, and deepen your understanding of our business? The Hartford is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Consultant to support our Claim Supplier Management and TPA Services organizations. This role will be pivotable for providing data analytics and reporting for vendor and TPA performance. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to influence outcomes and elevate servicey delivery.
Key Responsibilities
o Applies functional knowledge and techniques necessary to draw out data and analytics
o Performs requirements planning, monitoring and requirements management
o Independently performs data analysis, data discovery and data profiling using industry standard querying tools to support business requirements development that are complete, clear, unambiguous, well written and appropriate to audience
o Maintains Data mapping documents, Bus Matrix and other Data Design artifacts that define business data requirements and transformation rules
o Act as liaison and advisor/consultant between the business and IT stakeholders
o Performs and aids functional testing
o Structures and drives working and informational sessions that promote collaboration, synergy, and achieve desired outcomes
o Understands the scope of the project and helps resolve scope questions and issues related to own work
o Handles moderate level root cause analysis of business data issues and provides technical data guidance on issues
Qualifications:
o 3+ years of experience in business requirements and/or data analysis supporting the Insurance industry
o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience required
o Experience working on data warehouse or reporting/analytic projects
o Intermediate SQL skills (SQL Server and/or Snowflake preferred)
o Experience with common querying tools (Toad, SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio Code, SAS, R), exposure to programming languages (VBA, .NET, Python)
o Intermediate skills with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker.
o Strong facilitation, requirements elicitation and data analysis skills
o Communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal)
o Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a timeline driven environment
o Focused on continuous improvements
o Interpersonal and influencing skills
o Effectively manages key stakeholders in a matrix environment
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
