Essential Functions

  • Assist clients with claim reporting by collecting relevant information and submitting on their behalf.
  • Obtain confirmation of new claims including claim number and adjuster assignment.
  • Effectively utilize MJ’s client management system and document management system in order to appropriately document claim activity.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of open claims through internal diary system. Obtain status from carrier based on type of claim and severity. 
  • Educate clients on the claim handling process.
  • Address client claim-related concerns and inquiries on a daily on-demand basis. Respond to pre-determined internal inquiries, obtaining and relaying information as requested.
  • Assist with formal client onboarding to include tailored form creation and carrier website access and training.
  • Complete annual checkup of special handling guidelines per client
  • Collaborate with and support the Commercial Claim team.  

    Technical Functions

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Entry level knowledge of property/casualty insurance
  • Effectively utilize access to various carrier websites, developing proficiency in navigating portals

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area; work equivalent
  • Property & Casualty license (or ability to obtain)
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in the insurance industry in a Claims or related position
  • Demonstrated skills: sense of urgency, detail-oriented, excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaborate among the team daily and contribute to MJ’s culture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional presentation
