Job Summary:
This full-time position is responsible for many administrative tasks to support the claim adjusters and consultants for claims of various lines of insurance, predominantly workers’ compensation.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for accurate data entry, including claims and payments.
- Generates, prints and mails form letters.
- Downloads and files ISO claim searches.
- Pulls and files jurisdictional forms.
- Copies/prints documents.
- Opens, reads, prioritizes, sorts, scans and distributes paper and electronic mail.
- Files and maintains document storage in the claim system.
- Completes tasks as assigned by adjusters.
- Answers telephones, handles inquiries appropriately, and claim intake from insured.
- Prints and mails contact letters, FROIs and medical explanation of benefits daily.
- Sets up new claims as needed.
- Files faxes daily to the appropriate claim.
- Logs Jurisdictional Mail such as hearings, awards, etc. for Workers’ Compensation adjusters.
- Review documents for accuracy before mailing to claimants/providers.
- Respond timely to client inquiries
- Understand and stay current with technical and professional standards.
- Provide good customer service both internally and externally.
- Participate in special projects at management’s request.
- Possess time management skills to prioritize tasks and projects effectively to meet deadlines.
- Requires regular and consistent attendance, reliability, attention to detail and dependability in fulfilling obligations.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
Minimum Education / Abilities / Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent(college preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal skills for positive interaction with customers and co-workers, supporting the team concept of the department.
- Ability to work on several concurrent tasks and prioritize workload independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to learn third party computer programs/sites.
- Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
- Be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn; work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates accountability and is able to manage and meet expectations of co-workers and adjusters.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and deliverables; is highly responsive to internal and external stakeholders’ needs and requests.
- Demonstrates agility and is able to multi-task, as well as pivot to changing priorities, as circumstances warrant.
