Position Summary: The Nashville Market President is responsible for the overall growth, leadership, visibility, and success of the Nashville market. This position drives revenue through partnership development and retention, leads strategic relationship-building efforts, oversees market programming and community engagement initiatives, and serves as the primary representative of cityCURRENT throughout the Nashville business community.

The Market President is accountable for achieving revenue objectives, fostering partner engagement, strengthening community impact, advancing the organization's mission, and enhancing cityCURRENT's brand presence throughout Middle Tennessee.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Tasks:

  • Revenue Growth & Partnership Development
    • Develop and execute annual market growth strategies designed to achieve revenue, retention, and engagement objectives.
    • Identify, cultivate, and secure new strategic partnerships to support market growth and sustainability.
    • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing partners to maximize engagement, retention, and long-term value.
    • Conduct regular partner review meetings to ensure partnership objectives, expectations, and deliverables are being met.
    • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective partners through networking, referrals, community involvement, and strategic outreach.
    • Negotiate partnership agreements and ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations by both cityCURRENT and its partners.
    • Monitor key performance indicators related to revenue growth, partner engagement, retention, and market performance.
  • Strategic Leadership & Market Development
    • Provide strategic leadership for the Nashville market, developing annual business plans, growth initiatives, and community engagement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key business leaders, nonprofit executives, community stakeholders, elected officials, and industry influencers throughout the region.
    • Collaborate with cityCURRENT leadership to support organizational priorities, growth initiatives, and cross-market opportunities.
    • Identify emerging opportunities, challenges, and trends within the Nashville business community and recommend strategies to strengthen market position.
    • Represent cityCURRENT at community events, meetings, conferences, and networking functions as the primary ambassador for the Nashville market.
  • Partner Engagement & Relationship Building
    • Actively facilitate strategic introductions and connections among partners to encourage business development, collaboration, referrals, and community impact.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of each partner's business model, goals, services, target market, and strategic priorities.
    • Ensure partners fully understand and utilize all available program benefits, events, media opportunities, and engagement platforms.
    • Establish and maintain strong executive-level relationships with partner organizations and key decision-makers.
    • Monitor partner satisfaction and proactively address concerns to maintain a high level of engagement and retention.
  • Events, Programming & Content Development
    • Oversee the strategic planning, development, and execution of Nashville market events and programming.
    • Host and serve as Master of Ceremonies for Signature Breakfasts, receptions, roundtables, nonprofit tours, Women in Business events, panel discussions, volunteer initiatives, and other cityCURRENT programs.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to identify relevant topics, speakers, community leaders, and thought leadership opportunities.
    • Create and maintain a strategic guest list of business leaders, community influencers, and prospective partners for events, media opportunities, and networking activities.
    • Develop event agendas, run-of-show documents, scripts, speaking points, and participant experiences that align with cityCURRENT's mission and objectives.
    • Coordinate strategic seating assignments and attendee engagement strategies to maximize relationship-building opportunities.
  • Media, Communications & Brand Leadership
    • Serve as the primary spokesperson and public representative for cityCURRENT Nashville.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Media & Events and marketing resources to promote market initiatives, events, partnerships, and community impact efforts.
    • Identify and cultivate guests, thought leaders, and community partners for cityCURRENT media platforms, including radio shows, podcasts, interviews, and event programming.
    • Support content creation efforts that strengthen partner visibility, community engagement, and brand awareness.
    • Ensure Nashville market activities consistently reflect and reinforce the cityCURRENT brand, mission, and values.
  • Team Leadership & Operational Oversight
    • Provide leadership, coaching, direction, and performance oversight to market team members, contractors, and support resources.
    • Work collaboratively with the Director of Media & Events to ensure successful execution of events, communications, partner engagement activities, and operational priorities.
    • Utilize registration systems, and reporting tools to monitor attendance, engagement, revenue performance, and market activity.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of partner relationships, agreements, communications, and organizational activities.
    • Collaborate with finance and accounting personnel regarding invoicing, collections, receivables, and financial reporting as necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Community Impact & Volunteer Engagement
    • Lead the planning, development, and execution of community impact initiatives, volunteer engagement opportunities, and charitable partnerships.
    • Collaborate with nonprofit organizations, corporate partners, community leaders, and volunteers to maximize community impact.
    • Promote and support service-oriented initiatives that align with cityCURRENT's mission of connecting, informing, and inspiring the community.
    • Measure and communicate the outcomes and impact of community engagement efforts to partners, stakeholders, and organizational leadership.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience with sales, fundraising, or growth-oriented and relationship-building roles

Licensing and Credentials:

  • None

Systems:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with graphic arts programs (Ie. Canva, Photoshop, etc.) is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with audio and video editing and social media content creation is preferred, but not required
  • Applied Epic experience preferred, but knowledge of similar Agency Management System (AMS) is acceptable

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
  • Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
  • Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
  • Walking, bending, sitting, reaching, and stretching in all directions
