ERG is seeking a full-time Circular Economy Project Manager to join our team! This individual will coordinate with other team members to provide clients with high-quality results within project schedules and budgets. The position is based in the ERG office locations near the Washington, D.C. (preferred) or Boston, MA area. Other locations, including working remotely, will be considered.
Job Description:
- Manage project teams to deliver circular economy-focused projects to government clients
- Conduct research focused on circular economy topics, including life cycle assessment, policies that advance a circular economy, and management of batteries and food waste
- Coordinate client requests and lead client meetings, including developing agendas, facilitating meetings, and providing meeting notes
- Provide administrative support for relevant projects and collaborate with team members to ensure a timely and successful delivery of projects
- Track project budgets and coordinate with ERG senior management
- Produce reports and presentations with well-designed figures and tables
- Present project updates and results in project client meetings
- Support circular economy-focused proposals for business development
Qualifications and Skills:
- 8 to 12 years (at minimum) of professional experience and previous experience managing consulting projects and project teams preferred
- Experience with government contracting or supporting state and/or federal programs preferred
- Preferred Master's degree in environmental science/management or engineering or a field related to circular economy or sustainability
- May also consider Bachelor's degree with sufficient work experience
- Background in environmental science, engineering, economics, policy analysis, or a related technical field. Demonstrated ability to apply circular economy experience, preferably environmental consulting
- Experience working directly with clients and supporting business development and proposal preparation preferred
- Passion for and experience in data-driven sustainability analysis. Experience with life cycle assessment preferred
- Experience with organics/food waste and/or batteries a plus
- Experience organizing and leading small teams in a collaborative environment
- Familiarity with a wide range of data sources relevant for environmental and policy analysis, and the ability to identify and engage experts to conduct research
- Well-developed problem-solving, systems thinking, quantitative, and critical thinking skills; intellectual curiosity. Able to formulate solutions to poorly structured problems
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and in close collaboration with team members. Energized by working as part of a high-functioning, rapidly changing team and demonstrates a professional attitude
- Skilled written and verbal communicator, including the ability to present complex information so that it is understandable to a non-technical audience
- Strong time management skills
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and Access)
