The Intelligence Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a CIO Strategy Lead to work in our Linthicum, MD location. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the customer mission. In this mission we provide comprehensive operational, analytical, technical, forensic, and program management support to the customer.
As the CIO Strategy & Operations Lead, you aren't just managing a contract—you are the primary engine behind our Customer’s enterprise evolution. You will serve as the Chief Information Officer’s primary POC, translating high-level mission priorities from USCYBERCOM and the National Manager into technical reality. If you are a strategic thinker who enjoys bridging the gap between C-Suite vision and elite engineering execution, this is your seat at the table.
Architecting Modernity: You will steer the customer's transition to hybrid-cloud environments, modernizing legacy systems through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
Driving Strategic Unity: You will be the voice in the room with the CIO and CISO, briefing agency-wide roadmaps that align cybersecurity, AI/Data, and software engineering under a single "unity of effort."
Strategic Governance: From "build vs. buy" cost-benefit analyses to implementing enterprise Data Lakes, you will optimize how resources are deployed to defend and extend our global LAN/WAN footprint.
Mission-Critical Leadership: You will lead multi-disciplinary teams across the full spectrum of IT—securing multi-level VTC systems (Unclassified to TS/SCI) and ensuring our infrastructure meets the highest cyber framework standards.
To meet this challenge, we need the following required experience:
General: BA/BS or equivalent experience, and 10+ years of prior relevant experience, or Masters with 8+ years of prior relevant experience supporting DoD/DoW or Federal networks in Government and private networking and infrastructure environments. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Management: Recent experience leading a DoD/DoW/Federal government and/or contractor Information Technology workforce..
Leadership Presence: Recent experience briefing agency-level CIOs/CISOs on operational effectiveness and risk.
Mission Execution: A background interpreting and executing orders from USCYBERCOM or similar high-level Command authorities.
Technical Vision: Deep familiarity with modern tech stacks, including containerization, micro-segmentation, and data-driven portfolio management.
Clearance: TS/SCI security clearance eligibility.
If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling. At Leidos, we outthink, outbuild, and outpace the status quo — because the mission demands it. We're not hiring followers. We're recruiting the ones who disrupt, provoke, and refuse to fail. Step 10 is ancient history. We're already at step 30 — and moving faster than anyone else dares.
