Program Description
Community Investment & Economic Revitalization (CIER) supports sustainable economic growth that restores, preserves, and protects New Jersey’s natural, cultural, and historic resources through coordinating and promoting DEP initiatives at the intersection of environmental, social, and economic improvement.
Specific to the Position
Individual will assist in facilitating, coordinating, analyzing and unifying DEP financial decisions to support the Department's priorities, and will be part of a team that researches environmental policies and department grants, loans and other resources to develop the mechanisms and criteria to ensure consistency with DEP priorities. GIS aptitude and curiosity to explore and use computer applications to further the unification of financial resources is a plus.
Preferred Skillset: Strong organization, coordination, and consensus-building skills; strong writing and communication skills; and the ability to analyze and translate information into equitable impact.
Preferred Area of Study: Seeking individuals (ideally junior, senior, or graduate student) enrolled at an accredited university/college studying environmental science, environmental studies, environmental policy, public administration, public policy, urban planning, community or economic development, economics, finance, geography, or a similar degree area.
License
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
