Global Export & Agency Finance is looking for an Analyst based out of our Madrid Office (Boadilla del Monte).

The Global Export & Agency team is Santander´s front-office origination and execution platform for Export Credit Agency (ECA)- backed and Multilateral Agencies (MLA)- backed transactions globally.

As an Analyst you will be part of the Global Export and Agency Finance team, supporting our Latin American franchise. The main objective of the role will be to support origination efforts and help convert ideas into concrete transactions across a broad range of sectors and financing structures.

We are looking for candidates with an outstanding academic background, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail and the confidence to work with clients, agencies, local teams and internal stakeholders across different geographies.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, proactive and commercially minded profile, with strong follow-up skills, an outgoing personality and the people skills needed to build relationships, connect ideas and help originate business across the region.

The candidate will have the opportunity to gain exposure to the full universe of ECA and MLA-backed financing solutions in some of Santander’s core Latin American markets, working closely with local teams, global product specialists, Export Credit Agencies and Multilateral Agencies. We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:

  • Support the origination and follow-up of the ECA and MLA pipeline across the region.
  • Identify, screen and actively generate new business opportunities, working closely with local teams, coverage bankers, product specialists and clients.
  • Contribute to the preparation of high-quality client pitches, internal presentations and marketing materials
  • Monitor regional business performance, including KPIs, financials, pipeline evolution, revenues and related follow-ups for management reporting.
  • Drive internal coordination across geographies and main stakeholders, including Project Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance, E&S, Syndication, and Middle Office.
  • Support the execution of transactions with Export Credit Agencies and Multilateral Agencies through internal approval stages.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives aimed at growing Santander’s ECA and MLA franchise across core Latin American markets, with a clear focus on origination and opportunity generation.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, investment banking, structured finance, project finance, export finance, trade finance, credit analysis, consulting, sales, business development or a related financial services role.
  • Previous exposure to commercial roles, client interaction, sales processes, origination support or business development initiatives will be highly valued.
  • Experience preparing client presentations, management reports, pipeline updates and financial analysis.
  • International academic or professional experience will be highly valued.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Law, International Relations or Engineering.

Languages

  • Fluent English and Spanish.
  • Other languages are a plus, especially Portuguese or French.
